This subject aims to give students the language, knowledge, and skills to participate more successfully in academic discussions in English.

【Learning Goals】
(1) Students will be able to understand and use language appropriate for academic discussion.
(2) Students will be able to recognise and deal with common problems in academic discussions.
(3) Students will be able to understand and discuss important differences in cross-cultural communication.
(4) Students will be able to identify what makes an effective language learner effective.
授業概要／指導方針 【Course Outline/Teaching Method】
In this course, students will actively participate in discussion activities in English and in this way practice the skills they learn about in each class. Lessons are taught all in English.

博士前期課程で開講される「アカデミックディスカッション」を履修した場合には、履修できない。

成績評価の方法と基準 Grading (S, A, B, C, or D) will be determined by weekly review points (20%) and evaluation of the discussion test (teacher 40%, peer-evaluation 20%, self-evaluation 20%).
