教育目的/授業目標 The objectives of this course are to improve confidence and proficiency in English communication for future careers in business and research. This course will focus specifically on practical listening and reading skills using material from a range of professional contexts such as conferences, meetings, business emails, and finding employment. This course will also focus on building interactive speaking skills and strategies for conversation, discussion, and Q&A contexts. Tactics and self-study skills to further improve TOEIC test scores will also be looked at.
指導方針 This is a student-centered communicative language course and accordingly active student participation will be expected in a range of pair-work and small-group activities. This course also has a significant self-study component including extensive reading and vocabulary building using Xreading.

成績評価の方法と基準 Grading (S, A, B, C, or D) will be determined by two tests (40%), weekly quizzes (10%), Xreading self-study (30%), and post-course TOEIC-IP score (20%).
